Entry from: Hong Kong, China Entry Title: "March 13 2008" Entry: "Today we were able to sleep in as the guy jack hammering at 8am obviously took the day off. After a lazy morning we checked up on email, and decided to check out the electronics market north of Kowloon. The Star Ferry which has been running since 1898 takes you across the harbour from Central to Tsim Sha Tsui, for only .20 HKD for upper deck. We thought it would be a good idea to get a view of the city from the harbour, instead of taking the metro under the harbour. We took the metro to Central and walked the skyway to the piers. We bought our tickets and boarded the ferry. The ship was built in 1958 and seemed to be in pretty good shape. It was a bit of a rough ride, enough to make it difficult to walk to your seat. The view from the ferry was really good. The ride took maybe 15 minutes. We then found our way to the metro through all the East Indian men asking us if we needed tailors, watches or bags. We arrived at our stop and exited the metro into the electronics market. It's in a pretty slummy and smelly part of town. Stall after stall of electronic goods, mostly used. The stalls were not very organized which made it hard to see what they had. Lots of vendors had cell phones, but most looked really used and not very good prices ...
